BACK TO SCHOOL
It's late August and I'm getting the feeling that I get EVERY SINGLE YEAR at this time. Back to school shopping is in full swing and I'm experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms even though I graduated 11 YEARS AGO. (oh my gosh I'm soooo old) But honestly, I walk through walmart and want to buy all the things....please tell me I'm not alone.
Thankfully us "adults", have these things called office supplies and they're prettier than ever and we can totally go back to school shopping too...right??
1. Gold Stapler
2. BUSY Agenda
3. Pastel Pens
4. Floral Pencil Case
5. Polka Dot File Folders
6. Coffee Tumbler
I own that agenda and coffee tumbler and I use them ALL THE TIME. #BANDOGIRLGANG 4EVA! I'm heading back to work today after being on holidays for a week and I'm actually sooo excited. I guess that's a sign that I really love my job?? :)
I'm still not ready for summer to be over...but seriously it's getting so cold here and darker so much earlier and my heart is all like noooooo. What are you feeling? Excited for fall or want to hold on to summer a bit longer??

THREE YEARS MARRIED
Today marks three years of being married to James Peter Liira. I love him more now than ever before. After three years, we're still getting to know each other as we slowly unravel layers upon layers of our hearts. We were asked by a friend recently, how marriage really is. Marriage is hard. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done yet it's one of the best. Your own selfishness often rears it's ugly head in marriage. To be so vulnerable with one another is freaking scary. Your heart is on the line often but it's okay because he's in my corner. We received some marriage advice a few months back on when it's hard to sit down with the other and remind them, "I'm here. We're in this together and I'm not going anywhere."
It's late and I'm blabbing now but I wanna say that JAMES PETER LIIRA I LOVE YOU. I love you more now than ever before and tomorrow I will love you even more. I'm thankful for the way you love me, the way you encourage me, the way you make me laugh, the way you make me glow.
Happy three years married...here's to a billion more XO

5 BACKYARD PARTY IDEAS
My birthday is coming (August 28th, incase you were wondering ;) and this year I'm throwing a backyard bash. In my early 20s I loved hosting huge themed birthday parties (i.e. Hairspray themed, Pretentious Party, Trashtastic, Gangsta, etc) but for the past few years I've had more intimate gatherings. I know my 30th (next year...aaahhh!) will be real big (& golden) so this year I'm throwing a dinner party in our backyard. I'm thinking a summer-boho vibe... lights, low table, wildflowers in jars, candles, rugs and pillows.
Obviously I went to my number one source for inspiration (PINTEREST)...and here's what vibe I'm digging.
HELLO HOLIDAYS
I'm officially on holidays!!! Yesterday I went to Vancouver for the day, today I'm going to the spa, tomorrow we're going camping and at the end of the week we're celebrating three years of marriage...BOOYAH!
I told you awhile back that this summer was gonna be the summer of rest and for the most part it has been pretty restful but this week will be extra restful because OMGEEE I TURNED MY WORK EMAIL OFF! The last time I took some extended time off work was July 2014...ha! I love my job but I'm excited to have a week to rest, play and dream...oh it's gonna be good.
Hope your day is extra sweet today.

BLAZERS 4 UGANDA
Have you heard of Ethreeone? It's a blog designed to empower women in the professional world through fashion. My friend Brina started it and she has a super exciting campaign that I so want to get behind it!
Brina is going to Uganada in September to help with Watoto's, Living Hope. Living Hope is an amazing initiative that exists to restore dignity into Africa's most vulnerable women.
So before Brina leaves to Uganda she has an exciting initiative: BLAZERS 4 UGANDA. She is collecting gently used blazers to bless those women with blazers. I love it. These blazers are a small but powerful gesture to remind women in Africa that there are women in Canada who believe in them! If you are in Victoria, Brina is collecting blazers until August 26th and then she'll be heading to Calgary before she heads out. So if you're from Victoria or Calgary and have a gently used blazer to donate, email Brina at bmartens@ethreeone.com and make sure you check out her blog post all about it!
I'm so excited to donate some blazers and guess what? Brina will be snapping pics of the beautiful African women in them, so you can see which future world changer is wearing your blazer!
So excited for you Brina!!
