AND WE'RE OFF!!!

yikes….it’s been an insanely long time since i’ve posted!

i’m so sorry! life has been absolutely craaaaaay leading up to our trip but the day has come and we leave TOMORROW. we have a two day lay over in hong kong and then we have a jam packed time in india!!

i’ll try to update here & on our thoseliiras blog!

i just wanted to say another THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us through prayers and funding!!! it’s insane, and still boggles my mind, but God provided all the funding we needed!!

thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

ok…in typical last minute fashion i now need to wash & blow dry my hair, paint my nails & finish packing…eeeek!

we won!

the prize was a week long trip to MEXICO that we went on in january of 2008. yah, IN-CRED-I-BLE!!!!!

POCKET INSPIRATION

today i had a mini breakdown. let’s just say life has been a bit crazy lately. since we’ve gotten coco, i’ve been coming home on lunch breaks to feed and play with the little fur ball. it’s been a lot of driving back and forth (we just have one vehicle). and today, i was just tired.

i raced home to her meowing for food. i feed her and then water the plants on the balcony (praise God i have not killed them..yet). i then started to prep some chicken for dinner but then am interrupted by a little yet piercing meow.

don’t get me wrong, i love this little kitty. and i know that kittens need attention and affection and all that jazz it’s just i was very, very, very, tired (and emotional and probably hangry too).

i tried giving her a bit more food…she gobbled it up and then kept meowing. i tried petting her…nope still more meows. i tried playing with her…nope still more meows.

today i could only handle so many meows. i crumbled on the couch. it was messy. and then i remembered the scripture cards i made yesterday that were conveniently in my pocket….

and breathe.

have you checked our forecast lately? sun for days on days on days. i am over the moon (although i wouldn’t mind the temperature kicking up a few notches!!) our place is deathly hot though and coco is feeling it. poor girl. i finally caved and let her in our room because it’s the coolest room in our apartment (praying she did not poop on any of my clothes…)

for sunny days you need sunny outfits and i’ve picked out a few for you..and conveniently they’re all on sale (win win!!!)

COCO THE KITTEN

so yesterday afternoon my husband comes up to me and says “today’s going to be a monumental day.” i had absolute no idea what was coming as he ran around the house tidying up a few things.

all of a sudden he puts his hands over my eyes and guides me to the front door. when i open them one of my coworkers is standing there with a kitten (she was giving away the litter). james says “surprise! we have a cat!” and i am handed a little black fur ball.

i was extremely apprehensive at first. see, i’m a planner. i love researching….like freakishly love researching and planning.

so there i stood holding this little crying kitten not knowing what to do. i then came to the realization that my life would never be the same. i know i’m being dramatic here, but this is what was racing through my mind. james bolted out the door to grab some food and a box and i lay beside the kitten on the floor paralyzed. and then all of a sudden this little black fur ball sauntered on over to me and lay down right beside me, purring. *heart melted*

it didn’t take long for me to fall head over heels in love with it. at first we had no idea if it was a boy or girl, i was kinda hoping for a boy and prematurely started to call it richard parker but when we got home later that evening we discovered that it was a girl! 

so here she be, miss coco chanel liira.

awwweeeee!!! 

omgeee. isn’t she a darling? darling enough to turn cat-hater james into a cat-love in 24 hours. seriously. she’s so cuddly and purring like she’s never going to stop. i find myself contemplating whether to quit my job and hang out with her cuteness 24/7….jokes, jokes.

oh coco, you have my heart.
