NEW GROUNDS

Hello lovelies,

Just wanted to share something that God dropped on me this morning…

I was reading the beginning of John 11. Jesus found out how Lazarus was ill and waited two days before departing to see him. I love the way the Message put it,
Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus, but oddly, when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed on where he was for two more days.’  Ha, isn’t it funny how we sometimes look at God’s way as “odd”. Love it.

He told his disciples that Lazarus was asleep and he needed to wake him up. His disciples didn’t get it and…Then Jesus became explicit: “Lazarus died. And I am glad for your sakes that I wasn’t there. You’re about to be given new grounds for believing. Now let’s go to him.” John 11:14-15 MSG

YOU’RE ABOUT TO BE GIVEN NEW GROUNDS FOR BELIEVING jumped off the page right before my eyes. I sat there reading it over and over and over. This is a crazy week for me. We have our girls conference, ILLUMINATE starting on Friday. Many of us have been praying for it, for a long time! We know God is going to move in incredible ways in the girls’ lives. BUT sometimes things don’t always go the way planned…like last year and the flowers.. oh those dang flowers… let me remind you..

At the end of the conference last year we wanted to give the girls each a rose. We ordered the flowers online to save the costs. Well those stinking flowers got held up at the border and would not arrive in time. I found this out Saturday morning and was slightly, heavily, freaking out. Little did I know, God had it all covered. And in it all he was GIVING ME NEW GROUND FOR BELIEVING… I received a phone call a few hours later from my pastor. A local ministry was donated 66 dozen roses, they didn’t need them so they called my pastor to see if our girls conference wanted them. Yes, you heard right.. 66 DOZEN ROSES. God turned our measly attempt of 100 roses to 792. In that crisis, seeing God go ABOVE & BEYOND most definitely GAVE ME NEW GROUND FOR BELIEVING!

So be encouraged! Maybe you’re in the midst of a terrible situation or facing a difficult circumstance. Believe God. Allow the time spent waiting on Him to ready your heart to BELIEVE. Because who knows, YOU’RE ABOUT TO BE GIVEN NEW GROUNDS FOR BELIEVING just may be what He’s speaking to you…

Be sooo blessed,

s.s.♥.

CUTE

I’m pretty sure I’ve told you once or twice or a thousand times, how I love to paint my nails. I completely suck at it, but I love it. Probably the hardest part yet my most favourite part is picking out what colours to put on (One colour cannot grace an entire hand of mine!) Anyways.. saw this little video today and HAD to share…. ohhh being a girl is way too fun.. :)

Happy Sunday!

If you don’t go to a church in Vic…come to mine! Adore - 6:30pm, 1800 Quadra Street (tonight’s message- You can’t put a condom on your heart! ha, get there!!!)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

Fact: I’ve always loved Valentines Day.

A holiday that encourages me to eat chocolate and watch chick flicks? Count me in. In high school my best friend Laura & I would wear these matching heart t-shirts and curl our hair in the hallway. I always give out Valentines. Ya, ya, ya, I know it’s also Single Awareness Day but to be honest, I never felt lonely on Valentines Day.

Here are some practical DOs & DONTs to get you through the day…

DO

1. Spread love to others! You can’t really be sad & lonely if you’re loving other people!

2. Eat LOTS of chocolate.

3. Pray for your future mate. (God’s got this one covered honey, TRUST HIM.)

4. Hang with friends! Watch a comedy, go out for dinner, have a party.

5. Spend some time with Jesus. He’s the one who loves you most.

DON’T

1. Watch too many chick flicks.

2. Look at Wedding Blogs.

3. Pin your future wedding.

4. Not eat chocolate.

5. Let the enemy tell you, you’re going to be alone forever…YOU AIN’T!! God’s prepping your MOG for you!!!!!

This is my first year EVER with a boyfriend on Valentines Day, so I am SOAKING IT UP. Already he’s surprised me with two love notes (one hidden on my car door handle and one on my computer). Ah, a year ago our feelings were just beginning to blossom and I mustered up the courage to give him a Valentine..we had an awkward hug and nervously chatted. Ha! The past year has flown by and now we’re over 10 months into our relationship.

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

I love you James Liira.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

DIY: JAR LOVE

oh heeeey there,

it’s currently raining outside…usually i don’t mind the ol wet stuff, but today it’s making me quite uncomfortable. It’s supposed to rain all weekend too. Which usually sucks, but this weekend I’m working at my other job, where if it rains, it gets busy so rain = $$.

ANYWAYS…all this rain calls for one thing this weekend… CRAFTERNOON

Here’s a lovely one that I made with my besties, Rachel & Thea….

DIY JAR LOVE

Supplies needed- 1 jar & lid, plastic toy (we got ours from the dollar store), super glue, saran wrap & paint.

1. Remove label from Jar…this can take forever! We found peanut butter to be the best agent to remove that sucker..

2. Glue the toy onto the lid.

3. Cover the top of the jar (without lid) with saran wrap then screw on lid semi-tight.

4. Paint away! Make sure you get all those little crevices!

5. Wait until all the paint dries before you remove the saran wrap.

6. VOILA! fill it with goodies….mini pencil crayons, jelly beans, mini eggs…the possibilities are endless!
