LIFE
Well hello there 2018! It seems so surreal that we're at the very start of a new year, but I feel like that every...single...year. I have a lot of plans for this year but before we start talking about all that, I want to take the time to look back on the year.
2017 seemed like three years to me. It was a year that so so so so many things happened.
ames and I are so happy to announce that we are having a BABY GIRL!!!!!! It feels so surreal! We both guessed correctly but still it was so nice to have it confirmed. James is over the moon and so excited to be a daddy to a little girl. I love being a boy mom but man, I am sooo excited to raise a fierce, world changing, little girl!
Huge thanks to Rachael for taking these photos! And also to our good friend, Tyson who took more that I will post soon :)
I've been squeezing in some getaways as I'm going back to work in just over a week (!!!!!!!!) My in-laws have a place on Pender and we were able to stay in it for the first time last week. Pender Island is a short ferry ride from Victoria (about 45 minutes). It's a super cute island and we had so much fun exploring!
Last fall we went on our first (international) vacation as a family of three! Because of this unfortunate/fortunate experience we had some United air credit to spend. We wanted to go somewhere that was 1. not too expensive to get to 2. warmish 3. fun. San Diego fit the bill on all three of those!
A few days ago I shared your favourite posts from 2016 but I thought I should do a little personal reflection...
Oh twenty-sixteen, you were one wild ride.
I entered the year with an optimistic outlook as per usual (my #2 strength is positivity after all!) This was the year I was going to meet my baby...the one I was waiting for, the one I had dreamed about.
And just like that we are days away from 2017. DAAAAAAYS away! I always take the last few days of a year and reflect on the year....what did I learn? What challenged me? What will I do differently for 2017?
Obviously, this year has been one for the books...my most challenging yet most rewarding year yet but I still believe that the best is yet to come. So much to look forward to in 2017!!
But before looking forward, let's look back on YOUR favourite posts from 2016. Thank you again for following this blog and HUGE thanks to all of you who completed the reader survey I posted yesterday...it really is such helpful insight!!! And if you haven't taken it, please fill it out (it will take you less than five minutes!)
Merry Christmas everyone! It's been so wonderful seeing Luca experience it all and I can't imagine how next year will be. Hope you all have an amazing day spent with loved ones!
Thank you so much for reading and following along!!!
Holy guacamole this year has FLOWN BY! It honestly just feels like yesterday I shared our 2015 holiday photos and announced we were pregnant and now here are our 2016 photos with our almost 6 month old baby!!!!
I've always loved the New Year. New starts, blank calendar.... a whole new year before us! The past number of years I have prayed for a word for the year. I did that this year and can't wait to share it with you but before that I want to share some goals of mine.
