PRINTABLE NOVEMBER CALENDAR

Hi from San Diego! I planned things out a little bit early and have your November calendar ready for you :)

Hi from San Diego! I planned things out a little bit early and have your November calendar ready for you :)

And just like that it's almost NOVEMBER! Which means...it's almost time to start playing that Christmas music. I told James that I want to start decorating/baking/listening to Christmas music/watching Christmas movies EARLY this year.

When I'm at work, Christmas is one of the busiest seasons for me so this year I'm pumped to soak it all in...and conveniently I timed my mat leave on the one time Christmas is on a Sunday...heeehee. But anyways, why am I ranting about Christmas? It's still October, for a few more days...soak it in people because before you know it, it will be 2017!!!

WINTER FAMILY FASHION

You guys. My city is freeeeeezing. Ok, I may be over exaggerating...after all, I live in Victoria, where it snows maybe once every five years ha. But it's actually pretty cold outside here while it seems like the rest of Canada is wearing short sleeves. The other night James, Luca and I went for a little walk and even with a toque and coat on, I was freeezing. James forgot his coat but stayed warm due to a cute little heating pad on his chest aka Luca snuggled up in the ergo.

James forgot his coat but stayed warm due to a cute little heating pad on his chest aka Luca snuggled up in the ergo.

With this changing weather it got me thinking about cold weather gear. We plan on going for lots of walks this winter but obviously we need to stay toasty (mainly because I cannot stand being cold, ha). As you may know, I'm on the hunt for a new winter jacket and oh my goodness, I'm hardcore crushing on this Fjällräven one!

So naturally I made you a winter family fashion round up with (obviously) very cute yet practical picks...

  1. Fjällräven Women's Parka- I love how this jacket looks super cozy yet sleek. It will keep you warm but you won't look like you're wearing a sleeping bag...win win.
  2. Fjällräven Kånken Backpack- Our diaper bag is not water proof aka not practical at all for our wet weather so I'm on the hunt for one that will keep everything dry. These ones defs look like they will do the trick.
  3. Fjällräven Toque- Essential in our household and how cute is the little fox logo?
  4. Fjällräven Men's Jacket- How good does this men's jacket look? Trendy yet practical. I think James would look so hunky in it, ha.
  5. Ergo Weather Cover- We love walking with Luca in our Ergo and this cover will really give us no excuse to stay in when the weather turns. Hello winter walks!
  6. Indigo Trapper Hat- I actually just ordered this little hat for Luca. It's ridiculously soft and looks incredibly cute on.

There you have my picks for transitioning this family into winter friendly threads. I'd love to hear what products you love that are friendly for cool weather. Please let me know in the comments below!

HELLO WEEKEND

And just like that, it's FRIDAY! James is taking today off because he starts a big job tomorrow and will be working pretty much until we leave for San Diego. I strained my back lifting Luca (who weighs over 16lbs now!!!) and it majorly sucks😭😭😭 so I'm trying to rest and lay low in hopes that it will get better before our trip.

  •  I've been living vicariously through this instagram account for awhile now but in one week I won't need to because WE'LL BE IN DISNEYLAND!!! As you may recall, Disneyland is my favourite place in the whole world and I can't wait to bring my little lion there. We're only doing one day and I know it's gonna be crazy with a baby but still, I'M SOOO PUMPED.
  • How beautiful is that chunky knit throw above? I want one so badlyyyyy but will have to find a knock off because this one is almost the same price as a mortgage payment, ha.
  • Do you have any recommendations for San Diego? We're staying in an airbnb near Balboa park and would love your recs...I'm so looking forward to going to Hash House A Go Go again and of course...TRADER JOES!
  • Joe Fresh is having a baby sale! We bought Luca this hoodie...yes there is colour in it..HA. I wanted to get him the grey one but he already has 2 grey sweaters. Oh and we also bought this little long sleeve. Baby boy clothes are just so good these days, we were JUST at Joe and already they have new things that I want (like this, this & this, ha). We will be hitting up Zara Baby in the states so I need to calm down for now.
  • It's almost November and I still haven't made these muffins yet! If my back is better on Saturday, I will definitely be baking a batch!

Hope you have a marvellous weekend!

TRUST HOPE LOVE

A few days ago I was reading 1 Corinthians 13 and the words above jumped right off the page. Trust steadily (in God), hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. I was moved, challenged, and inspired and I immediately wrote them down.

A few days ago I was reading 1 Corinthians 13 and the words above jumped right off the page. Trust steadily (in God), hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. I was moved, challenged, and inspired and I immediately wrote them down.

I want to be a woman who trusts steadily in God even (and especially) when things don't go as planned. I want to hope unswervingly even in the most dismal outlook. And love...this may be the most challenging one of all...to love extravagantly...going beyond what is justified or deserved...the way how He loves us.
