I DO // BAND LOVE

Soooo lo & behold…IT ARRIVED!!!

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting my wedding band any time soon. We ordered it from some little shop in Brooklyn. They seemed pretty chill. After we purchased it I received an email saying they’ll get in touch…they never got in touch. I was a bit worried so I emailed them. They emailed back and assured me they’d email me the tracking info when it was ready to ship.

Yep, no email..but SURPRISE parcel came in the mail!

I wanted something different. (About a month ago I showed you my search

Well, the little guy came yesterday and I am beyond happy with it.

I was pretty worried that it was going to be way thicker than my engagement ring, but nope! it looks gem. You can’t really see it with the iPhone cam, but it’s a tiny twig with seven little diamonds. I LOVE IT!

Oh, and nobody told me it was bad luck to try it on before the wedding day, soooo I did what every smart internet shopper does when a parcel arrives..open immediately and try on to see if it fits…IT FITS LIKE A DREAM! (yay!)

happy thursday!

DIARY // WEDDING NIGHTMARE

So I had a wedding nightmare last night. It was my second wedding nightmare to date.

Somehow it was the day of my wedding and the ceremony was just starting. As the first song was being sung, I snuck a peek in the mirror and realized I hadn’t started my make-up yet…thankfully I was in my dress but my makeup wasn’t done and my hair do was already falling out and I couldn’t find my shoes….HORROR….and then I started to worry about the dessert bar at the ceremony…apparently that was a big deal because I called Shawna frantically to pick up some 5cent candy…and then I realized that I hadn’t even started writing my vows yet…and then I realized that the photographer hadn’t showed up….and then, praise the Lord, I woke up.

I’m not worried because all of those things will get done…and I won’t forget what’s actually important…that I’m marrying my incredible moG…that my friends & family get to celebrate and that God is going to be lifted up in our love. Buuuutttt…..i’d really, rather not stress, especially in my sleep…

Married & engaged peeps, help me out! Did you have wedding nightmares too?

Life’s getting a bit cray cray round here. Moving to Pop’s for a month, finding a home for August 1st, preparing to preach at Imadene, serving at Nanoose, and not to mention planning a wedding, oh and all the other work too….

But God is good. He is constant. He is faithful! That is my current mantra..I’m finding myself repeating those truths over and over and over.

God is good. God is constant. God is faithful.

ALWAYS THE BRIDESMAID...ALMOST THE BRIDE

I’ve had the privilege of being a bridesmaid twice before…and last night I had the privilege once again!

It’s not everyday you are a witness/bridesmaid in an impromptu wedding ceremony! Oh the adventures I have working at @gtvictoria… was what I tweeted yesterday at 7:00pm.

The first time I was a bridesmaid it was for my beautiful friend, Chelsea ! (She’s actually expecting their first child, a baby boy (!), at the end of this month)

Chelsea & Johnny are an amazing couple! Their wedding was beyond beautiful. Even with a few hiccups (the vintage car broke down, we were 45 minutes late for the reception), it was an amazing day!!!

The second time I was a bridesmaid was at my brother’s wedding last summer.

Emy is seriously one sweet lady. My brother is so lucky to have her and we are so blessed to have her in the famjam! It was a beyond lovely day. They are off to Europe for two months this week..have fun guys!!!!

And the third time was last night…

here’s the story..

So this couple contact the church to get married.(She’s from America, he’s from the gulf islands, they’re in their 50s) They tentatively booked a date (June 12th) through an email in early May. I never heard back from them and (horribly) forgot. Yesterday at 1 minute to 5 (closing time), they entered the church office, ready to be wed! Some details had to be taken care of but an hour later Pastor Andy married them while Danae & I stood by as witnesses/bridesmaids.

They were seriously soooo sweet & seemed very much in love. The bride repeatedly hugged Danae & I and called us her bridesmaids. Her eyes were full of tears and she grasped her husband’s hand. What an honour to be able to pray for the newlyweds.

Even though it was last minute, even though it was in our little prayer room, even though there wasn’t a big wedding party, even though there were no rings to exchange, even though the Pastor was wearing toms, even though there were no flowers…it was an absolutely, beautiful ceremony where the most important thing was clear.

Two people who loved each other very much were united together in marriage in the sight of God.
