DIARY // IN AN INSTA

Supppppp.
It’s been a little busy round here the past week. I apologize for the no posting! And I’ll apologize in advance that I’ll probably won’t be posting next week either…ok I most definitely won’t be posting. I’m heading up to Nanoose Bay Teen Camp, where I’ll be getting my butt kicked on the sports field by day and my heart filled in the chapel by night. So excited to see what God has in store for the kids! The possibilities are endless.
I’m also currently finishing sermons for Imadene Teen Girls Camp (which is directly after Nanoose!) Would love your prayers for that! Pray that God would move in incredible ways! Pray for girls to come to know Jesus for the first time!!
ok, i best be going. but here are a few of my current instas. Yes, I have instagram. No, I don’t have an iphone. Don’t expect a lot of posts…but perhaps I’ll borrow my friend’s and post the occasional one or two!

HAPPY JULY 4th
I know.
I know.
I didn’t write a HAPPY JULY 1ST.
Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE CANADA. I love being Canadian! It’s just that on Sunday, I was a wee bit occupied with watching my azzuri die to the spanish.. (boooooo!)
But today is JULY 1st. I haven’t been to America since my roadtrip to Coachella last year!! My heart is for Canada but weirdly my fashion cells scream USA.
I own an american flag bikini, american flag crop top, american flag tank & american flag shorts…..odd, I know.
In honour of our wonderful neighbours down south take a peek at my lovely experience with them a few years ago…here!
And then take a look at these threads I currently have my eye on…

I am seriously blown away by everyone’s generosity, love & support. It feels amazing to be surrounded by such amazing family (blood & church). I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

DIARY // BUTTERFLIES

I’m currently writing this post while staring at MY WEDDING DRESS hanging over the board room door. ha. I’m going to my tailor directly after work. To save time, I picked up my dress from the store and obviously did not want to let her sit and melt in my car.
So there she is.
Just staring at me. (She’s a beauty by the way.)
It’s pretty surreal…what also is surreal is..it’s my WEDDING SHOWER TONIGHT!!!
yippeeeee! I’ve had the honour to see lots of gals from my church get married. The wedding shower is always fun…lovely friends, games, food & presents! And tonight..the day has come..it’s actually my wedding shower…crazy! Honestly, it’s going to feel a bit weird being at the centre of attention…as much as I am outgoing..I can be a very introverted person..eeep…but nevertheless I am beyond excited to be surrounded by loved ones!
We’re sitting at 52 days now.
Fifty-two days until I marry James. We’re going to start writing out vows soon and I have no idea where to start. Butterflies overload my heart when I begin to even think about what to write…eeeep! But I know the words will come, the Creator of everything will give me the creativity to express what’s in this heart of mine. I am completely, head over heels, in absolute love with this man..and it’s like God keeps opening up little doors of my heart, that are releasing more and more love everyday. Things aren’t always perfect. We’re works in progress and we know that they will never be perfect but we love God & we love each other. God is our anchor.
I thought I’d be posting a lot more DIY & stuff but July is insanity for me…
As you know, I just moved back into my dad’s house for a month! In less than two weeks I head up to Nanoose Bay Teen Camp & directly after head to preach at Imadene for a week! I get back on James’ birthday & then I move into our place August 1st…woooweeee!
So the DIY’s will come in August & regular updating…thanks for sitting tight!
stay gold,

SELAH

Sometimes you just got to pause and reflect.
SELAH.
Praise the Lord that there is more on pinterest than time consuming DIYS that you may never get around to. For the record, I have total faith that you’ll get around to all of those DIYS you post :)
But, I am so thankful to see these beautiful truths being repined.
It’s a blessing and a half to be perusing pinterest in the middle of a crazy day and then all of a sudden, see God’s word beautifully presented.
God’s word is alive and active. It’s filled with hope, filled with truth to cling to, to hold on to. My hero, Beth Moore (the best Bible teacher EVER!) once shared that she has a set of scripture cards that she carries around in her purse. Whatever season she’s currently going through, whether it’s a season of blessing, joy, waiting, trial, anguish, etc, she prays and searches God’s word for verses that encourage her. After the season is done, she puts that set of verses away and stores them for down the road when she needs encouragement in that season again! Brilliant.
One day I’ll make a set of verses on cue cards but until then I’ll repin them to my SELAH board.
Here are some verses that God’s been speaking to me lately..

DIARY // GOODBYE
Well, the time has come friends.
This is the final night I’ll be sleeping in the house my sister & I have lived in for the past (almost) two years.
It’s been a heck of a beauty not living at home. I’ve been paying rent like a big girl. Moving out of pop’s place helped me mature and get a more realistic point of view on life.

I loved heaps & heaps of things about this house, but here are a couple…
1. Location. Vic West (the non-sketchy part) is actually a pretty decent neighbourhood. I loved going for runs along the Gorge, and there is a gorgeous park just minutes from here!
2. The kitchen. My sister & I truly found our love for baking in this place. Oh, the counter tops! Oh, the cupboard space! We spent many a times baking away. Chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter inside with peanut butter cream cheese icing. Pumpkin Cream Cheese muffins. Candy Cane Biscotti. Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes. Cookies & Cream cupcakes (my personal favourite). Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake Bars. Homemade hot cocoa mix. Oreo Cheesecake Bars. Black Forest Cupcakes. (All these recipes are from my fave, Annies Eats) mmmmmmmmmmmmm…..
But, it’s time to move on….as you know, I’m getting married to the most incredible man in the world in 56 days…and in VERY EXCITING NEWS…we found our first place!!
It’s stunning. The top floor of an old character house. It’s huge with original hard wood and my favourite part, a private deck off the bedroom!! I’m beyond excited that we found it and it’s good to go..now it’s just waiting until August 1st, when I’ll move in! So excited to have sleepovers with all my girlfriends and turn the place into a wedding craft workshop..ha. I can’t wait to give y’all a home tour!!!!
Until then I’m going back to pops house..which is totes fine because a.it gives me a more delayed move in to the new house and b. i’m away for half of July at camps!
well, back to cleaning..
xo,
s.s.♥.
